Following a successful career in state government, Mark transitioned into private practice, obtaining certification as a hearing officer and founding his law firm.
Mark is a recognized authority in the legal subjects he practices, Mark has been a frequent presenter for over thirty national and state organizations, as well as private companies. These include notable entities such as the Kentucky Bar Association, Kentucky Office of the Attorney General, the National Attorneys General Training and Research Institute, and the Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards.
Mark's academic journey includes Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Philosophy from Emory University in Atlanta, culminating in a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law. As an Assistant Attorney General for Kentucky, he served as assigned counsel and prosecuting attorney to numerous health professions licensure boards, further solidifying his comprehensive understanding of administrative and professional law.
Mark is a distinguished expert in healthcare practitioners licensure law, adept at managing a variety of professional regulatory matters. Mark serves as a registered legislative agent (lobbyist) for the Kentucky Association of Pastoral Counselors.Founding presenter in 2013-14 for “Navigating Ethics and Law for Mental Health Professionals,” a continuing education training approved by five Kentucky mental health licensure boards. He also founded in 2017 “The Kentucky Code of Ethical Conduct: Ethical Practice; Risk Management, and; the Code of Ethical Conduct” as an approved, state-mandated continuing education seminar for social workers. He passionately participates in advocating for the passage of Senate Bill 61, showcasing his commitment to making a positive impact in his field beyond the courtroom. Mark's extensive expertise, both as a legal practitioner and an educator, underscores his dedication to excellence and advocacy in healthcare practitioners licensure law.
